Laguna Woods Village lights its tree on December 5. For anyone who wants to put a decorated golf cart in the parade that evening, the season starts a month earlier. Registration opens on ActiveNet on Thursday, November 5, at 9 a.m.
Most of this year's calendar works the same way. The Halloween party sells wristbands in advance only. The Performing Arts Center sells tickets through a resident login and a weekday box office. Most of it builds toward one Saturday night, when the Village's free celebration at Clubhouse 1 ends an hour before an 18-piece big-band Christmas show starts at the PAC. Here is that calendar in order, with the sign-up dates included.
The Grandparents' Halloween Fun Day is Saturday, October 31. Trunk or Treat runs from 10:30 to 11 a.m., then the main event goes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The flyer lists a 60-foot indoor inflatable obstacle course, bounce houses and crafts.
Admission is free for adults and for children 2 and younger. Children older than 2 pay $10. Wristbands are sold at the Clubhouse 5 office, open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office takes credit card or check, and card fees apply. No tickets will be sold on the day of the event, so the last chance to buy is Friday, October 30.
Golf-cart registration for Trunk or Treat closes Thursday, October 29, on ActiveNet. GRF provides the candy and personal candy is not allowed, so bring a treat bag and nothing to hand out.

The same advance-only pattern shapes the first week of November, and November 5 is its busiest day. Holiday parade registration opens at 9 a.m., and that evening Dana Carvey Live, with special guest Jann Karam, plays the Performing Arts Center. The ticket page lists a 7:30 p.m. start and the PAC's printed schedule says 7 p.m., so confirm the time with the box office. Tickets start at $35.
The shows on either side of it fill out the week:
That puts three evening and afternoon shows in four days at the same theater, plus a parade sign-up that opens at a fixed hour. If your household is planning both a golf cart and a Carvey night, both happen on November 5, and only the parade sign-up has an opening time to watch for.
After that first week the PAC shifts to tribute concerts, free films and afternoon lectures.
The Graduates: The Sound of Simon & Garfunkel plays Saturday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m. Reserved seats are $35, $40 and $45.
Monday Movie "Sheep Detectives" screens on November 16 and is free for residents. The PAC schedule lists showings at 2 and 7 p.m., but the ticket page shows only 2 p.m. Check the time with the box office before planning on the evening show.
Timeless Melodies: Inspiration is Tuesday, November 24, at 2 p.m. It is one of the Village's music lectures, priced at $6 each.
Most of the season builds toward Saturday, December 5. The Village's annual Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting is free and runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Clubhouse 1. One hour after it ends, A Very Bublé Christmas, part of the CA Club Legends Series, opens at the Performing Arts Center in Clubhouse 3, 23822 Avenida Sevilla.
| Time | What's happening | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 5 p.m. | Holiday golf-cart parade | Starts and ends at Clubhouse 1 |
| After the parade until 6:30 p.m. | Tree lighting, strolling carolers, Santa, hot cocoa and cookies while supplies last | Clubhouse 1 |
| During the event | OCFA Station 22 toy drive collection | Clubhouse 1 |
| 7:30 p.m. | A Very Bublé Christmas with an 18-piece orchestra | Performing Arts Center, Clubhouse 3 |
The parade route from the flyer goes like this:
That loop runs along Avenida Sevilla, the street with the PAC's address. Anyone holding Bublé tickets can watch the parade, stay for the tree lighting and still have an hour to get to the theater.
A few details make the evening go more smoothly. The Orange County Fire Authority's Station 22 is collecting new, unwrapped toys and gifts for its holiday toy drive, so bring one with you. The GRF no-host bar will sell a specialty cocktail called the Holiday Ember. The Bublé ticket page doesn't show a price, and buying requires signing in, so check the price inside the portal or at the box office. Questions about the parade go to 949-597-4281 or [email protected].
Clubhouse 1 stays busy the next evening. On Sunday, December 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Springboks Club holds its Dazzling Darlings fundraiser, with jewelry and crafts made by residents. Admission and refreshments are free, and raffle tickets are for sale. That makes a free tree lighting and a free craft fair on back-to-back evenings in the same clubhouse.
The PAC's holiday programming runs from early December through New Year's Eve:
If you or your guests prefer afternoons, four of these five shows start at 2 p.m. ABBAFAB is the only evening show of the season after Bublé.
Every paid PAC show above goes through the same ticket system. Online sales run on tickets.lagunawoodsvillage.com, which only sells to signed-in users. Sign in, choose an event and seats, and pay by credit or debit card. Tickets arrive by email, and each order carries a $2 service fee plus card fees.
The box office is at the PAC, 23822 Avenida Sevilla. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and one hour before shows. It accepts credit card or check, and card fees apply. For PAC questions, call 949-597-4289.
Unless an event says otherwise, Village events are for residents and their authorized guests. Families flying in for December 5 or New Year's Eve should plan for the resident in the household to buy their tickets.
If a holiday visit this year has your family talking about a parent's home in Laguna Woods Village, whether to stay, downsize or sell, the team at Aballi Group works with Village households and their adult children every season and can help you think it through without pressure. A free home valuation is a simple place to start, and it can wait until after the tree is lit.
